Greenville County Restaurant Inspections: Raw Fish in Blood, Personal Items on Food
Department of Agriculture inspectors in Greenville County documented severe food safety violations during February inspections. Among the most egregious findings were raw fish stored in a pool of blood, dirty meat cutting equipment, and employees placing personal items directly on top of food intended for public consumption. Inspectors conducted a total of 382 inspections throughout the month. The majority of establishments, 356, received an 'A' grade. Twenty-two restaurants received a 'B' grade. However, four restaurants were issued a 'C' grade, indicating critical and repeated violations that pose a direct health hazard to the public. The specific names of the restaurants receiving the lowest grades were detailed in the full inspection report, highlighting systemic failures in food handling, storage, and employee hygiene practices.
