Fervo Energy has locked in a major supply chain deal to scale its next-generation geothermal technology, securing a three-year framework agreement with Turboden, part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, for up to 1.7 gigawatts of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbines. This agreement represents a significant commitment to building standardized, carbon-free, dispatchable baseload power across the United States, directly addressing the surging electricity demand driven by data centers and AI infrastructure.

The deal covers turbines for up to 35 of Fervo's standardized 50 MW 'GeoBlocks.' It builds on an existing partnership for three GeoBlocks at Fervo's Cape Station project in Utah, where Phase I commissioning is in advanced stages with startup expected later this year. By securing long-term supply chain capacity and shortening lead times for Turboden's proprietary ORC technology, the framework aims to accelerate project timelines and strengthen domestic manufacturing resilience for the geothermal sector.
