Gunzilla Games CEO Admits Not Paying Staff 'Works for Company Cash Flow' as Employees Go Unpaid for Months
The CEO of NFT game studio Gunzilla Games has bluntly stated that not paying employee salaries 'works for company cash flow,' as multiple staff members report going months without wages. This admission comes amid a severe financial crisis at the developer of the battle royale shooter 'Off The Grid,' which is reportedly struggling to maintain its player base.
According to reports from Insider Gaming, several employees have taken to LinkedIn to detail the dire situation. The company's Talent Acquisition Lead, Anna Savina, claimed staff have gone months without receiving their salaries and alleged that Gunzilla executives have been ignoring payment requests. 'I dedicated three years of my professional life to Gunzilla Games... Today, I’m forced to face a significant outstanding debt that covers several months of my professional life,' Savina stated. A Principal Artist also reported receiving no payments for August and September.
The case exposes severe internal governance and financial management failures, raising immediate questions about the studio's solvency and the broader risks for workers in the volatile web3 and gaming sectors. The CEO's justification for withholding pay as a cash flow management tactic signals intense pressure on the company's operations and places its future development in serious jeopardy.
