Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) has formally declared force majeure on parts of its contract book, a direct consequence of Iranian missile and drone strikes that damaged its critical Al Taweelah smelter and forced a complete operational halt. The broader Middle East region accounts for roughly 9% of worldwide supply, making the outage at a flagship facility a significant disruption. The declaration of force majeure, a legal clause invoked due to extraordinary circumstances, suspends the company's obligation to fulfill specific delivery contracts, confirming the severity of the production halt.
